About Emily McFarland, LCSW
Here for the calm, the storm, & everything in between.
Hi! My name is Emily, and I’m a mental health therapist licensed in NC and FL. A North Carolina native, I was born and raised in the foothills of NC and attended Appalachian State University from 2013-2017. I then moved to Wilmington in 2019 to pursue my Master of Social Work (MSW) degree at the University of North Carolina Wilmington. In a search for year-round sunshine and warm weather, I found myself relocating to West Palm Beach, Florida, where I currently reside.
Before venturing into private practice, I spent nearly four years working in school-based mental health, supporting kids and families through challenges including anxiety, adjustment, trauma, and more. This experience continues to shape my work with both children and adults today.
In my spare time, I enjoy lounging around with my two cats, Oliver and Pickle, both of which love to make an appearance in sessions when allowed! On a nice sunny day, you can find me at the beach with a good book, or gearing up to head outside for a run.
I’m glad you’re here, and I hope to be part of your journey!

i want my clients to know that
At the root of my approach to therapy is honoring your experience, at your pace.
Instead of rushing to “solutions,” I’m intentional about building trust, respecting your limits, and welcoming everything about you. No matter what comes our way, I want our time together to feel collaborative and encouraging - a place where you feel comfortable to just be human.
